With the rise of digital payments, using QR codes for transactions has become increasingly popular. If you’re wondering whether you can use the Scan and Pay via QR feature for in-store purchases and bills payments, the answer is yes! Here’s a guide to help you understand how to use this feature. 

Eligible Accounts
To use the Scan and Pay via QR feature, you’ll need to have a Peso Checking and Savings account or an ESS (ESecureSavings) account. These accounts can be used when scanning QR Ph codes. 

Scanning/Uploading QR Codes
You can scan/upload any official merchant codes, as long as there is a QR Ph logo printed in the middle. However, QR codes for person-to-person transfers are not yet supported at this time.

Fees and Charges
The good news is that there are no charges for scanning any official merchant and biller QR Ph code, even those from other providers. You can enjoy in-store purchases and bills payments under QR Ph for free using the app. 

Payment Limits
There is a daily payment limit of Php 50,000 when paying official QR Ph merchants and billers. This is a security measure to protect your account and prevent unauthorized transactions. 

Successful Payment Notification
Once you’ve made a payment using the Scan and Pay via QR feature, you’ll receive a successful payment notification via the app and a confirmation email through your registered email address. You’ll also see the transaction in your source account’s transaction history. 

To pay via uploading a QR, you will need to provide photo access to the Security Bank App. 

To do so, follow the steps below: 

1. Open the Security Bank app. 
2. Tap “Upload QR”, a prompt will appear. 
3. Choose between allowing full access or limiting photo access of the Security Bank app.

List of QR Ph Billers 

There are 341 billers with QR Ph codes as of August 15, 2025. 

Check from the list below what message you’re getting, what it means, and what steps you can take to fix this.  

Message: Temporarily unavailable. Sorry, we cannot proceed with your transaction since your account is still under cooldown period. Please try again later. 

What to do: Wait for a few hours before re-scanning the QR code 

Message: Network error encountered. Please make sure your internet connection is stable before retrying. If the issue persists, restart the app or try again later. 

What to do: Double-check if your mobile data is on or if you’re properly connected to WiFi, then re-scan the QR code. 

Message: No eligible source account. Your account has a different currency and is not eligible to proceed with your transaction using the QR code. 

What to do: Dollar savings accounts are not eligible to transact using QR code. Please ensure you have either a Peso checking and savings account and/or ESS account to proceed. 

Message: Network error encountered. Sorry, we encountered some network issues while processing your request. Please try again or contact us at (+632) 8887-9188 if the problem persist. 

What to do: This is a system error. Log-out from the app and wait for a few minutes before re-scanning a QR code.
